Centre for Transformation and Development(CTD)

The Centre for Transformation and Development, often referred to by its acronym CTD, stands out as a highly regarded non-governmental organization (NGO) that is dedicated to fostering and promoting the development of rural areas in the beautiful state of Assam. Established with a well-defined mission, CTD works tirelessly to support rural communities by implementing programs and initiatives that aim to enhance their overall quality of life. Officially registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860, CTD proudly holds the registration number RS/KARBI/249/B/01, which reflects its legal standing since the fiscal year 2010-2011. 

With a strong commitment to improving living standards, CTD focuses on a diverse range of sectors that are crucial for the holistic development of rural communities. Areas of concentration include health and wellness, education, and the creation of livelihood opportunities. Each of these sectors plays a fundamental role in transforming the socio-economic landscape of rural Assam, and through strategic interventions and support, CTD works to catalyze meaningful and lasting positive changes.

The organization's overarching goal is to ensure sustainable growth and empower every individual within these communities, positioning them to reach their fullest potential. By fostering an environment that encourages development, CTD provides the necessary resources and support for individuals to thrive and succeed. Through its unwavering dedication to community upliftment and resilience, CTD is paving the way for a brighter future for the people of rural Assam.

How do CTD(Centre for Transformation and Development) exist?

/The CTD was conceived in the year 1990,The founder of CTD saw and faced various miserable helpless situation of they rural people. Many parents lost their children by improper care,children could not continue in their schooling by finance problems, many families lost source of income by giving mortgage and many families lost their landed property just for their two meals food. The Government agencies never see their situation and expecting something from him and sometimes asked for medicine, money for their treatment, some help for admission etc. He wants to extend his helping hand to the needy , marginalized and downtrodden and underprivileged people in the society specially in remote rural area. He brought a book title,  "Management of Christian Services in India" published  by Christian Institute of Management Anna Nagar, Chennai. By reading the said book he got the idea to get registration a society drafted by a law of society and registered in the Registrar office Dispur  IN 2010-2011 in the name of "Centre for Transformation and Development" as an NGO. After getting registration some small programs were executing like adult literacy, after school club from other registered society.  But without staff so an organization call PAST(People Action for Social Transformation)from Manipur help to be exist an NGO.

About us

              

The Centre for Transformation and Development(CTD) is a non-profit organization working with the mandate for a human social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Establishment of the vulnerable communities across the state for their effective participation in development. The CTD at present in Karbi  Anglong set its thematic focus on promoting sustainable livelihood, energizing the youth as change makers, protecting lives, livelihood and assets from impact of hazards, advocating for the rights of marginalized community and civil society organization. Gender and Youth are underlining theme across all its interventions.


  

Mission: 

 The CTD commit itself to actualize a healthy and just society through various means and 

method. To implement and support quality development programs to the poor, marginalized 

& vulnerable sections of the society with special focus on women and children. 

Vision:   

Healthy and a just society- Help establish a humane social order based on equity, freedom 

and justice in which human rights and the dignity of every individual is upheld. 

 

Organizational Structure 

General Body: There is general Body which consist of 25 people who are involving in the 

social service. The general body meet as AGM once in a year and the general body approved 

plan, program and budget and the general body has two kinds of member-patron member and 

annual members. The office bearer is select or nominate from the patron members. The terms 

of the office bearer are three years only.  


Governing Body: The number of Governing Body is 7 only. The GB meets normally twice a 

year, and the GB also sits as per the situation demands. The executive secretary is responsible 

for implementing all programs adopted and approved by the AGM.  

Office Staff: Office staffs look after all the project activities as per approved by the General 

Body and as per decision of the GB. The office staffs coordinate all the activities with field 

staffs and executive secretary of the CTD. 

Field Worker: There are field workers who work with beneficiary along with the VDC 

(Village Development Committee)  


   

      Our Values

We prioritize the Most Vulnerable. 

The CTD commitment to the people who are most vulnerable in our world. We prioritize the needs of people who face extreme poverty and/or are part of communities that face injustice because of their sex, race, religion, ethnicity, or other cause of marginalization.         

  We Foster Human Connections. Meaningful change happens most deeply in the context of relationships. Meeting others face to face, actively listening to one another’s stories, building long-term relationships, and fostering human connections are foundational to our shared mission.             We Empower Individuals. “Power” is the ability to make decisions about one’s own life [and others' lives]. We work to empower people through access to quality education and training by supporting social, emotional, nutritional, and material needs.      

    We Strive for the Maximum Effect. We focus on programs that produce the maximum effect (impact) for the sake of its participants. We use formal and informal evaluations and feedback loops to learn what aspects of programs work well and where they need improvement so that we can continue to do better.      

We share in mutual Responsibility:    Humans are all created in the image of God. We are interconnected and have been given a New Commandment to love another. As interconnected organizations, we have a mutual responsivity and accountability to the entire community: direct and indirect project participants, staffs, donors, and the society at large.
